CHRIST CARE GROUPS
Visitations are planned for months with 5 Sundays.
The purpose of Christ Care Groups is:
· to visit with the shut-ins (including song, prayer, and Scripture reading),
· to build discipleship skills, and
· to provide an intergenerational opportunity for members to get to know each other better.
Meeting Times:
Visitations are planned for months with 5 Sundays, but we hope to do them more often as more groups form.
This ministry is administered by the WELCA (Women of the ELCA) ministry of this congregation.
Associated Activities:
Visiting with members who are unable to participate in regular congregational activities (“shut-ins”) and as a group, going out to eat before these visitations.
Growth Needs:
By forming more groups, a greater number of member shut-ins can be reached and groups could visit people other than shut-ins.
Since many of our shut-ins are older individuals, it is wonderful to include a variety of ages in each group to help them still feel connected to the congregation as a whole.
Helpful Talents/Gifts Needed:
If you like to share time and fellowship with others, are willing to develop discipleship skills, enjoy singing, praying and scripture reading, or organizing groups, then this ministry would benefit you!
Why Should You Join This Group?
All visits are greatly anticipated and appreciated. You get to know your fellow members in a more personal way and you receive an opportunity to share the Gospel with someone of like faith so that when other opportunities to share the Gospel arise, we have the courage to do it again!
