The purpose of the council is to manage and anticipate both spiritual and physical property needs of the congregation. This elected board oversees finances, budget, insurance, church policies, all ministries, employees and other issues important to our day to day activities.
Meeting Times:
Monthly meeting times are set each year as new council assembles. Traditionally, meeting time is the first Sunday of each month at 7pm
Associated Activities:
Directly oversees budget and audit committees, nominating committee, various church work days, church family directory, indoor and outdoor building care, Membership Ministry Team, Stewardship Care Team, church cemetery and etc.
Growth Needs:
The way in which to grow is in an indirect manner of forming several elder’s ministry teams to allow them to become more efficient in using the maximum number of people and their gifts to help the mission in areas such as Youth, Stewardship, Membership, and Fellowship.
Helpful Talents/Gifts Needed:
Any persons that feel gifted and/or experienced in the various areas of our “Growth Needs” missions as outlined above.
Why Should You Join This Group?
First: (Council Board) To step forward and put your name on the ballot to be elected to a council position and possibly be elected, will reward you in knowing that you are helping to oversee a very important “body” of Christ. (A council official must be a confirmed member of this congregation and at least 18 years old.)
Second: (Council’s Ministry Teams) By participating in a ministry team (Youth, Stewardship, Membership, Fellowship), you will be able to concentrate in a particular field that sparks your interest. This will allow you to participate more fully in our congregational life and makes us all stronger and more effective since “many hands make for light work”.
