FUNERAL FOOD COMMITTEE

Funeral Food Committee is a ministry whose purpose is to provide meals after funerals in support of the grieving family and their friends.

Meeting Times:

  As Needed - to organize donations and purchase food for a meal following a funeral in our church

  This ministry is administered by the WELCA (Women of the ELCA) ministry of this congregation.

Associated Activities:

 Organizing the meal, set up and décor of tables, preparing the meal, and serving a meal after a funeral are the key activities of this committee. 

 Clean up occurs after the family’s departure.

Growth Needs:

 More people are needed who would be willing to donate time and food as needed. 

 We especially need individuals on the clean up crew and also men willing to lift and arrange tables for the funeral meals and/or take them down after the meal.

Helpful Talents/Gifts Needed:

 Anyone with the ability to bake pies or prepare salads, with clean up talents (dishes, sweep floor, wash tables, etc.), or anyone who likes to set-up or take down tables and chairs.

Why Should You Join This Group?

 It is a tangible way of showing your support for the deceased member’s family and friends.  This is a special time of healing and is extremely appreciated by the family.
