HAPPY WANDERERS
The purpose of The Happy Wanderers’ ministry is:
Q to provide an opportunity for fellowship (especially for singles) among people in our community and an opportunity to get away,
Q to plan activities with varying degrees of physical activity so limited walkers can participate,
Q to learn about the area we live in, to make new friends, to be able to have common experiences which can be reminisced with neighbors and friends, and to bring happiness into daily routines.
Meeting Times :
Bus trips are planned for four or more times a year. They depart from the log cabin in the Cardington Park. Trips are “advertised” in the church newsletter and on the fellowship hall bulletin board.
Associated Activities:
Depending on the destination, participants could see a musical, eat at restaurants, purchase items at gift shops, see a movie, watch a stage show, or whatever else is deemed fun! Following multiple-day trips, there is a special gathering to share stories and photos.
Growth Needs:
New travelers are always welcome to join in our escapades.
Helpful Talents/Gifts Needed:
Folks who want to go places without the hassle of driving, who enjoy adventure and are fun-loving, and who are considerate of others’ interests and are flexible if schedules have to change.
Why Should You Join This Group?
If you don’t want to go someplace alone and you don’t want to drive, this is the perfect opportunity. The coach (bus) drops you off at the log cabin’s door and picks you up there also. There are varying degrees of walking in each trip. Guides, often used during our tours, tell details of an area (something not available when alone or in a small group). Group rates are usually cheaper than individual rates. Variety is planned in each trip. Limited time is planned at each stop.
