Pastor
The congregation of St. John (Windfall) Lutheran Church has been blessed with the leadership of Reverend Donald W. Pletcher, also known to many as "Pastor Don", for 18 years. He and his wife, Alida, have faithfully served the congregation through times of joy and distress by self-sacrificing their own personal time to give compassion and love in God's name to the congregation and community of St. John.
Pastor Don and Alida served previously in three other congregations before answering the call to shepherd the people of St. John in the rural farming community of Windfall. Both Pastor Don and Alida are graduates of Captial University in Columbus, Ohio.
Alida received a degree in vocal music and uses her talents daily as a Vocal Music teacher in the Columbus Public schools. She also supports St. John with her musical abilities as pianist, organist, soloist, choir member, and other leadership roles in music and service.
Pastor Don received his Master of Divinity degree at Trinity Seminary in Columbus, Ohio. He has served in the following congregations in Whitehall, Ohio and in the two-point parish of Fort Recovery, Ohio and Salamonia, IN. He has also participated in synod offices including the Northwestern Ohio Synod Council and the Northwestern Ohio Lutheran Youth Organization (LYO).
