PIECEMAKERS
Piecemakers are known for the quilts they make for the Red Cross, Lutheran World Relief, Christmas Clearing House (Marion), people in need or for special groups, and for our graduating high school seniors.
Meeting Times:
This group gathers each Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
A shared sewing day with St. Paul’s Cardington, St. Paul’s Waldo, and our congregation, is held at each of the three churches once a year.
This ministry is administered by the WELCA (Women of the ELCA)
ministry of this congregation.
Associated Activities:
The Piecemakers make school kits, health care kits, layettes, and of course, quilts! They also recycle Campbell soup labels, old greeting cards, and used stamps.
Growth Needed:
We need more people (men and women, young or old) to work on Tuesdays. There are jobs for those who need to sit and for those who know nothing about sewing!
We strive to make more quilts, school and health kits, layettes and recycling more greeting cards, stamps, and soup labels since there is always a growing demand for these items.
Helpful Talents/Gifts Needed:
We encourage all people who enjoy doing things for others and enjoy fellowship in a group-setting to join us.
You do not have to be able to sew, but it is a bonus if you can operate a sewing machine!
Why Should You Join This Group?
You will receive satisfaction from helping individuals and families as an outreach ministry and for those we may never see. You will share in fellowship with others while doing worthwhile projects and keep your fingers nimble at the same time. Come join us!
