Each Sunday at St. John has two worship services to offer its members and guests. The sermon title is always displayed on the church sign and in the Friday edition of The Marion Star newspaper.
Read the following descriptions of each service to see which one fits your schedule and worship style:
This service is up-beat with contemporary praise music and is extremely easy to follow. It is led by congregational members with Pastor Don Pletcher giving the sermon.
Meeting Times:
Each Sunday at 8:15 A.M. Holy Communion offered on second and fourth Sundays each month.
Associated Activities:
Worship of our Lord through praise songs, confession, scripture, sermon, declaration of faith and prayer.
Growth Needs:
First: Any and all people who want a personal relationship with God and fellowship with others.
Then: Creative ideas to enhance worship services. We are open to trying new forms of worship that incorporate gifts and talents that you have…..we will find a place for you!!
Opportunities to take part in the worship service include: lighting and extinguishing the candles, readers to read scripture, take up offering, set out and clean up communion, lead service, prepare and lead mini messages, lead prayer time, and participate instrumentally or lead music vocally.
Other opportunities include greeting arriving worshipers, pass out song books with bulletin, help plan and prepare services, work sound system, and all else deemed necessary!
All ages are welcome to participate in the above opportunities!

An open and loving heart to God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit is all that is required.

10:30 AM TRADITIONAL WORSHIP SERVICE
Celebrating the beauty of the Lutheran liturgy (meaningful interaction of words between leader and congregation) is the purpose of this traditional worship service with Pastor Don Pletcher.
Meeting Times:
Each Sunday at 10:30 A.M. Holy Communion is offered on first and third Sundays each month.
Associated Activities:
Worship of our Lord through classical hymns, confession, scripture, sermon, declaration of faith and prayer.
Growth Needs:
First: Any and all people who want a personal relationship with God and to be part of a community of believers.
Then: Opportunities to take part in the worship service include: any individuals who would like to be a crucifer (carry the cross down aisle at beginning and ending of service), an acolyte (lighting and extinguishing the candles) or to lector (read scripture).
Other opportunities include greeting arriving worshipers, help plan and prepare services, work sound system, and all else deemed necessary!
All ages are welcome to participate in the above opportunities!
